Dark and moody photography inspired by Peaky Blinders, using natural light and composition to capture intimate and evocative moments

As a photographer, my style has evolved over time. However, it wasn't until I discovered the TV show Peaky Blinders that I found my true passion: dark and moody photography. This show, set in Birmingham, England during the aftermath of World War I, is known for its distinct visual style, which is heavily influenced by the fashion and aesthetic of the period. The colour palette of the show is generally muted and earthy, with a lot of greys, browns, and blues. These colours reflect the gritty, industrial setting of the show and the mood of post-war England.

After watching Peaky Blinders, I realized that I loved the way the show used shadow and light to create a sense of mood and atmosphere. I was particularly drawn to the way the show used contrast and shadow to create a sense of depth and drama in the images. I realized that this was the type of photography I wanted to create.

I began experimenting with my own photography, using natural light to create a sense of intimacy and drama. I also started to pay close attention to composition, using angles and framing to create a sense of tension and movement in my images. I started to focus on capturing the intimate, candid moments, and the emotions of the couple. I payed attention to the body language of the couple and used poses, gestures and facial expressions to convey the mood and emotion of the scene.

I started to experiment with different locations and settings, and I found that dark and moody photography works well in a variety of environments. Whether it's a forest clearing, a cliff, or a beach, the moody aesthetic can adapt to any environment and create a unique and evocative image. I love the way the dark and moody style can create a sense of intimacy and drama, making the images more evocative and capturing the true essence of the special day.

I also found that the dark and moody style is perfect for capturing the candid moments of the wedding / elopement. I focus on capturing the emotions and the unique atmosphere of the wedding / elopement to create a story that is uniquely the couple's.
